The last weekend in March saw the beauty industry a-buzz in Monaco for the annual Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC). This was the show’s 21st annual edition, with events spanning over 3 days, and a record attendance of beyond 12,000 industry professionals.
Over 250 brands and companies from the beauty industry were present at AMWC this year. Each had a booth on a show floor, displaying its latest products. Most of them offered free samples to visitors, making it an excellent opportunity to try out products before making a purchase.
It was interesting to see how the industry is shifting. Current trends, at least according to the sheer number of products and manufacturers present, were dermal fillers, threads, mesotherapy, and medical devices. As for emerging trends, hydrafacial, PRP treatments, and hair loss prevention stood out as the most prominent ones. The way products are marketed has also changed – for the better! A huge emphasis has been placed on the diversity of the models, with significant attention put on before/after images of each brand’s models.
For industry people, a set of panels ran over all three days of the show. There were 250+ keynote speakers this year, each of them presenting the audience with engaging information about this industry. Almost everything happening at the show was live-streamed, so the AMWC followed the latest trends organization-wise.
The biggest highlight was definitely the awards show. Every year, the AMWC jury picks out the 10 best products and devices, and the ten most influential people in different fields of corrective medicine.
Fillmed brought home two awards: the best aesthetic device (Nanomed) and the best injectable skin revitalization product (NCTF 135 HA). Here is the complete list of winners from the AMWC 2023:
