What is Bocouture used for?
Bocouture is used mainly for diminishing the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, reducing horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, and minimizing the fine lines around the eyes (known as crow’s feet). It is also used for facial rejuvenation.
Bocouture also comes in handy for treating muscle spasms, chronic migraines, cervical dystonia, and neurological disorders that require targeted intervention.
Who can buy and inject Bocouture?
Bocouture is exclusively available to licensed healthcare professionals, including:
- Physicians
- Dermatologists
- Qualified practitioners
Only individuals with the appropriate medical qualifications and authorization are permitted to purchase and administer Bocouture injections. This ensures that the product is used safely and effectively, aligning with regulatory standards and prioritizing patient well-being.
Who is the ideal candidate for Bocouture treatment?
The ideal candidate for Bocouture treatment is anyone who seeks an effective non-surgical treatment for cosmetic enhancement or relief from a neuromuscular condition. This may include normal adults with good health, patients suffering from cervical dystonia, and individuals with dynamic wrinkles or muscle spasms.
People who are allergic to Botulinum neurotoxin type A suffer from a generalized disorder of muscle activity (like Lambert-Eaton syndrome), or have infection/inflammation at the proposed site of injection should avoid Bocouture treatment.
It is also not recommended for people over 65 years of age, adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as those suffering from blood disease, weakness, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or swallowing difficulties.
How long does Bocouture last?
The duration of Bocouture’s effectiveness varies from individual to individual. Generally, its cosmetic benefits are noticeable within a few days after treatment and last for three to four months.
The longevity of the results depends on factors such as metabolism, muscle activity, and the specific area treated. Patients often schedule follow-up appointments to maintain results. With consistent treatments, some patients may even experience longer intervals between sessions (i.e., five months or so).
How long can you store Bocouture?
When unopened, you can store and use Bocouture injections until the expiry date mentioned on the carton. It is usually labeled as “EXP” and refers to the last day of the mentioned month.
Once a vial is opened, you can store it for a maximum of 24 hours at 2 - 8 degrees Celsius. Do not use it when the solution becomes cloudy and you start noticing visible white particles.
What is the difference between Botox and Bocouture?
Both Bocouture and Botox are Botulinum toxin type A products. Their onset of action and duration of effect are also similar.
However, they differ in protein composition — Bocouture has less protein than Botox. This means when Bocouture is introduced into the body, it is less likely to trigger an allergic reaction. It is also more affordable compared to Botox.
