JUVEDERM® ULTRA 2 with Lidocaine

Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 is an injectable implant used for filling medium-sized depressions of the skin via mid-dermis injection and for lip definition. The presence of lidocaine is meant to reduce the patient’s pain during treatment.

Juvéderm® ULTRA is a range of smooth consistency gels made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps add volume and hydration. Clinicians use Juvéderm® ULTRA injectable gels to instantly restore the skin’s volume, smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, and redefine lips.

Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 is a sterile pyrogen-free physiological solution of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, not of animal origin. The gel is presented in a graduated, pre-filled, disposable syringe. Each box contains two 0.55 mL Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 syringes, 2 single-use 30G1/2″ sterile needles for injecting Juvéderm® ULTRA 2, an instruction leaflet, and labels for traceability.

Contraindications:

• Do not inject Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 in the eyelids. The application in the under-eye area should be performed only by specialists specifically trained in this technique with a sound knowledge of the area’s physiology.
• Do not inject into the blood vessels (intravascular) to avoid embolization, occlusion, ischemia, or infarction.
• Do not overcorrect.
• Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 must not be used in the following cases:
  • Patients suffering from untreated epilepsy.
  • Patients who tend to develop hypertrophic scarring.
  • Patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid and/or to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
  • Patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or amide-type local anesthetics.
  • Patients suffering from porphyria.
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Children.
• Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 must not be used in areas with cutaneous inflammatory and/or infectious processes (acne, herpes, etc.).
• Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 should not be used simultaneously with laser treatment, deep chemical peels, or dermabrasion. For surface peels, it is recommended not to inject the product if the inflammatory reaction generated is significant.

After-care:

• Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcoholic beverages to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching.
• No treatment can halt the aging process; you will require top-ups if you want to maintain the effect. Consult your clinician for recommendations on rescheduling another appointment. You will receive the Juvéderm® ULTRA beauty passport to keep a record of treatments.
