JUVÉDERM® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine

• Juvederm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine is an injectable dermal implant intended for the treatment of any deep skin depressions due to conditions such as premature ageing.
• This formulation can also be used for face contouring and volume restoration.
• Juvederm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine is intended to be used via deep dermis or lip mucosa injection by an authorised health care professional.
• The presence of lidocaine is meant to reduce the patient’s pain during treatment.

• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine is an injectable dermal implant intended to treat any deep skin depressions due to conditions such as premature ageing.

• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine is intended to be used via deep dermis or lip mucosa injection. The presence of lidocaine is meant to reduce the patient’s pain during treatment.
• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine is indicated for adults (over the age of 18).

• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine is a sterile pyrogen-free physiological solution of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) which is not of animal origin.
• The gel is presented in a graduated, pre-filled, disposable syringe. Each box contains two 1mL syringes, 4 single-use 30G1/2” sterile needles to be used only for injecting this dermal filler, an instruction leaflet and a set of labels in order to ensure traceability.

Injection Technique:

• This Juvederm® formulation requires mid to deep dermal injection depending on the targeted area and desired outcome.
• A 27G or 30G needle is commonly used for controlled placement.
• Cannulas can be an option for specific areas like cheeks and lips to minimize bruising and bleeding risks.

Dermal injection technique will vary depending on the desired outcome:

• Linear threading for wrinkle filling
• Bolus injections for volume augmentation
• Layering technique for combined wrinkle filling and volume restoration

Important Considerations:

• Juvederm® Volift® with Lidocaine is for licensed practitioners trained in dermal filler injections.
• Thorough facial analysis is crucial to determine injection points, amount of filler needed, and depth of injection.
• Aseptic technique is essential to minimize infection risks.
• Lidocaine helps with pain management, but additional local anesthesia might be necessary for some patients.
• Massage the injected area gently to ensure even product distribution.
• Advise patients on potential side effects like bruising, swelling, and tenderness.

Additional Tips:

• Employ blunt cannulas for areas with rich blood vessels to reduce bruising.
• Use aspiration during injection to minimize vascular occlusion.
• Start with a conservative amount of filler and perform touch-ups if needed after two weeks.
• Advise patients to avoid excessive manipulation of the injected area for several days.

Remember:

• Juvederm® Volift® with Lidocaine is not intended for the under-eye area or very thin lip.
• Refer to Allergan’s product information for full prescribing details, safety instructions, and potential contraindications.

Contraindications:

• Do not inject Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine in the periorbital area (eyelids, under-eye area, crow’s feet) and glabellar region.
• Do not inject this dermal filler into the blood vessels (intravascular). Intravascular injection may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia or infarction.
• Do not overcorrect.
• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine must not be used in:
• patients suffering from untreated epilepsy;
• patients who tend to develop hypertrophic scarring;
• patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid and/or to gram positive bacterial proteins as hyaluronic acid is produced by Streptococcus type bacteria;
• patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or to amide-type local anaesthetics;
• patients suffering from porphyria;
• women who are pregnant or breastfeeding;
• children.
• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine must not be used in areas presenting cutaneous inflammatory and/or infectious processes (acne, herpes, etc.).
• Juvéderm® VOLIFT® with Lidocaine should not be used simultaneously with laser treatment, deep chemical peels or dermabrasion. For surface peels, it is recommended not to inject the product if the inflammatory reaction generated is significant.

After-care:

Please report the following to your medical practitioner as soon as possible for appropriate treatment:

• inflammatory reactions for more than one week or,
• any other side effect that has developed.
