LATISSE® is indicated to treat hypotrichosis* of the eyelashes by increasing their growth, including length, thickness, and darkness. * Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is indicated to treat hypotrichosis of the eyelashes by increasing their growth, including length, thickness, and darkness.

• Apply nightly directly to the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the base of the eyelashes using the accompanying applicators.
• Blot any excess solution beyond the eyelid margin.
• Dispose of the applicator after one use.
• Repeat for the opposite eyelid margin using a new sterile applicator.
• DO NOT APPLY in your eye or to the lower lid. ONLY use the sterile applicators supplied with LATISSE® to apply the product.
• If any solution gets into the eye proper, it is not expected to cause harm. The eye should not be rinsed.
• Don’t allow the tip of the bottle or applicator to contact surrounding structures, fingers, or any other unintended surface in order to avoid contamination by common bacteria known to cause infections.
• Contact lenses should be removed prior to application and may be reinserted 15 minutes following its administration.

Contraindications:

• LATISSE® is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or to any of the in-gredients.
• LATISSE® should be used with caution in patients with active intraocular inflammation (eg, uveitis) because the inflammation may be exacerbated. LATISSE® should be used with caution in aphakic patients, in pseudophakic patients with a torn posterior lens capsule, or in patients with known risk factors for macular edema.

After-care:

After-care Instructions for Latisse® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution):

Immediate After-care:

• Eye Drops: Instruct patients to use the prescribed eye drops as directed, typically once daily in the evening after applying Latisse®.
• Blotting Excess Fluid: Advise patients to gently blot away any excess from the eyelid margins with a clean, dry tissue to minimize the risk of transfer to other parts of the face.

Daily Routine:

• Makeup Removal: Recommend gentle removing of makeup at night before applying Latisse®. Oil-based makeup removers should be avoided near the lashline.
• Application Technique: Instruct patients on the proper application technique, emphasizing apply-ing only to the upper eyelid margin using the sterile applicators provided.
• Avoiding Contact with Lower Eyelid: Stress the importance of avoiding contact with the lower eyelid or other areas of the face, as this can cause unwanted hair growth.
• Handwashing: Advise patients to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water before and af-ter applying.

Additional Considerations:

• Potential Side Effects: Inform patients about potential side effects like eye redness, irritation, itch-ing, dryness, or a burning sensation. These are usually temporary and mild.
• Discontinuation of Use: If patients experience any severe or persistent side effects, instruct them to discontinue use and consult their doctor.
• Contact Lens Use: Advise contact lens wearers to remove their lenses before applying Latisse® and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
• Missed Applications: Instruct patients on what to do if they miss a dose. Generally, they should simply skip the missed dose and resume their regular schedule the next evening.

Schedule follow-up appointments to monitor progress, address any concerns, and assess the need for continued treatment with Latisse®.
