What is TEOSYAL® RHA 3?
TEOSYAL® RHA 3 is a temporary dermal filler made of non-animal hyaluronic acid, with Lidocaine added as an anesthetic. This injectable filler helps reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles while allowing the skin to retain its elastic properties. By mixing non-modified hyaluronic acid in with the cross-linked hyaluronic acid, TEOSYAL® RHA 3 becomes more similar to natural hyaluronic acid in the skin, helping the filler adapt to facial movement.
Why do doctors use TEOSYAL® RHA 3?
Doctors, like plastic surgeons and dermatologists, use TEOSYAL® RHA 3 to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles in aging or prematurely-aged skin. TEOSYAL® RHA 3’s formula helps it stretch with the skin, making it most suitable for the areas of your patient’s face that have the most movement, such as the vertical lip lines, nasogenian folds, and other deep lines and creases. You can also use TEOSYAL® RHA 3 to augment your patient’s cheeks, restore the shape of their face, or fill depressions caused by scars.
How TEOSYAL® RHA 3 works
TEOSYAL® RHA 3 contains a combination of cross-linked hyaluronic acid and non-modified hyaluronic acid. While the cross-linked hyaluronic acid helps the filler to last longer before breaking down, the non-modified hyaluronic acid helps make the filler more elastic. This ability to stretch helps TEOSYAL® RHA 3 move with the skin, allowing the skin to move naturally. Dermal fillers such as TEOSYAL® RHA 3 work by absorbing up to a thousand times their weight in moisture, filling and supporting the skin while retaining hydration. The hyaluronic acid in this dermal filler will gradually break down within your patient’s skin to be absorbed by their body.
When and how to use TEOSYAL® RHA 3
Only trained medical professionals should inject TEOSYAL® RHA 3. You may need to perform one or two TEOSYAL® RHA 3 treatment sessions, depending on your patient’s needs, to create the results your patient desires. TEOSYAL® RHA 3 should last around six to nine months, so your patient should visit your clinic for a treatment session about once or twice a year. You should not inject more than 3 ml of TEOSYAL® RHA 3 in one treatment session, but otherwise the amount of filler you use will depend on your patient’s individual needs. To use TEOSYAL® RHA 3, you should slowly inject the filler into your patient’s deep dermis at the correction site using the linear threading injection technique. Injecting TEOSYAL® RHA 3 too deeply may not give visible results, and injecting TEOSYAL® RHA 3 too shallowly may give inconsistent results. After injecting TEOSYAL® RHA 3 into the desired location, gently massage your patient’s skin to help ensure even results.
TEOSYAL® RHA 3 side effects
Your patients may experience TEOSYAL® RHA 3 side effects similar to other hyaluronic acid injections, such as erythema (redness), swelling, and discomfort at the injection site. These side effects usually resolve on their own within a few days, and the Lidocaine in TEOSYAL® RHA 3 should help reduce pain and discomfort from the injection. Other possible TEOSYAL® RHA 3 side effects could include itching, temporary loss of sensitivity at the injection site, haematoma, abscess, induration (skin hardness), nodules or granulomas, discoloration, skin necrosis, and migration of the implant. Your patients could also experience hypersensitivity or anaphylactic shock from a TEOSYAL® RHA 3 injection. These may not be all the possible TEOSYAL® RHA 3 side effects.
Precautions when using TEOSYAL® RHA 3
You should not inject TEOSYAL® RHA 3 into your patients who are allergic or hypersensitive to hyaluronic acid or any other ingredient in this dermal filler. In the week before their TEOSYAL® RHA 3 injection, your patient should not take high doses of vitamin E, aspirin, anti-coagulants, or anti-inflammatories, and in the week after, your patients should avoid extreme temperatures such as saunas and intense cold. For twelve hours after a TEOSYAL® RHA 3 treatment, your patient should not wear makeup. Only use each TEOSYAL® RHA 3 syringe for a single treatment: never re-use the product on another patient because it may not be sterile. Do not use TEOSYAL® RHA 3 to treat patients who are pregnant, and do not use TEOSYAL® RHA 3 to treat patients who are breastfeeding because researchers are unsure of the effect of this dermal filler on a child.
Does TEOSYAL® RHA 3 require a skin test?
You do not need to perform a skin test before treating your patient with TEOSYAL® RHA 3 since it is made of non-animal hyaluronic acid, produced by bacterial fermentation from streptococci bacteria in a laboratory. The patented TEOSYAL® technology also helps reduce the protein and bacterial endotoxin level in the dermal filler, reducing the chance of a hypersensitivity reaction.
How to store TEOSYAL® RHA 3
Keep TEOSYAL® RHA 3 away from direct sunlight. Store this dermal filler between two and twenty-five degrees Celsius.
